What is electronic component R22CC1 and why is it rotating?

Hi guys,

I am trying to make sense of an electronic component, but have found nothing on the internet. Does anyone know what this component with the label " R22CC1" is? The half cylinder shaped part ist rotating.

That's what makes the vibrations when your phone is on vibrate. The tiny motor spins the offset weight, which shakes your phone.

It may be really hard to find a datasheet for this sort of thing. In mass consumer products, like phones, many parts are semicustom. What you can try to do is find a part that is functionally equivalent (size, mounting, voltage, etc.). If you search for vibrators, you won't get the links you want. "haptic" is a good search word to put in. Also "vibration motor".

Damn it. I totally overlooked the obvious. In German, we use to say "den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht sehen", which means "you do not see the forrest because of the trees". Of course, the device vibrates. Thanks so much Dave!

That was my point. A forest is a grouping of trees. Forrest is a name.
