I'd like to know your opinion. Do you think the universe could posses the following qualities altogether?
1) All quantum fields are effective fields
2) Gravity is an effective field
3) Local realism (possibly superdeterminism)
4) There is a preferred frame of reference
It seems to me, that there is a possibility, that in such a model an analog of RG flow could be reversed. I envision it as an analog of generation of a mathematical fractal ('fractal zoom').
Papers by Gonzalez-Meistres mentioned the possibility of 1+4. A also find considerations of an abstract of the paper "Quantum Field Theory as Manifestation of Fractal Geometry" very convincing:"We discuss two theoretical arguments strongly suggesting that the continuum limit of Quantum Field Theory (QFT) leads to fractal geometry. The first argument stems from the Path Integral formulation of QFT, whereas the second one is an inevitable consequence of the Renormalization Group (RG)."
